Flatware Utensils Just Grew 30% Larger

You are making our dreams come true and helping bring good things to life. Once again, we are super grateful for you! We're also grateful that Kickstarter placed this campaign on the top of their homepage!
Now, we have some great news to share with you.
Flatware's Utensil Surface Areas Has Increased 30%
Yup, you read that correctly; I know, I was shocked by this as well. How can GoSun make such a tiny product become so large and capable?? Well, I can tell you, this was not some pre-conceived marketing maneuver...."but wait, there's more..." Thanks to relentless pursuit of perfection and refinements, the heads of both the spoon and the fork will be much larger, holding even more food.
All of the photos and videos on this campaign page are from the original (30% smaller) size. I know it is a little hard to tell the difference from the image above, but you would certainly understand the power of this change if you were given the two sets to compare while eating. Size matters, as does the shape and feel - we think you will be in love with all that Flatware has to offer.
More Design Updates
GoSun's design and engineering team has been cranking away on Flatware. This little set of utensils is surprisingly sophisticated but you will not have anything to worry about. Good design is never seen. We've made some improvements and observations as follows:
- The whole Flatware set weighs just 1.4 ounces (40 grams) - fork, spoon and case
- Flatware has the rigidity to slice as well as typical stainless steel utensils, there will be slightly different movement when pushing the utensil against its spring hinge
- Flatware can be tumble polished to ensure all edges and surfaces are rounded and smooth
- Flatware's spring hinge mechanisms are designed to work forever, given normal use (see finite element analysis examples below)

Thanks to you, Flatware is exceeding our goals and dreams. Plus, a big thanks to Kickstarter for sharing Flatware in an email update which drove a recent spike of nearly 1,000 backers! We are beside ourselves with joy and amazement with this community. Now, with less than two weeks left..

We all know that single-use plastic is a mess. The whole world is waking up to this reality and taking action to eliminate this 50 year long, plastic phenomenon. This video (below) and infographic from Reuters puts our plastic consumption is a unique perspective.
Fantastic Plastic Puzzle
It's pretty amazing that our society has reached the point where the effort necessary to: 1) extract oil from the ground, 2) ship it to a refinery, 3) turn it into plastic, 3) shape it appropriately, 4) truck it to a store, 5) buy it, 6) and bring it home, is considered to be less effort than what it takes to just wash the spoon when you’re done with it.
If there was an excuse for single-use plastic utensils in the past, there is not one now.
Where GoSun Flatware Fits In
Single-Use Plastic is the worst thing that ever happened to cutlery. Stainless Steel is the best thing that ever happened to cutlery. One hundred years ago, before stainless, cutlery was typically covered in silver and had to be polished constantly. Now, GoSun Flatware is the best thing that ever happened to portable, reusable cutlery.

Wow! Your Support is Making an Impact.
Flatware is a pretty new GoSun project. We did not take years to plan, strategize and develop this product like many of our other innovations. So, this awesome to see so much traction with an invention that was recently created.
Happy Halloween!
If you're going to be scared of anything this Halloween, it's single-use plastics. Even worse, it is scary that us humans keep using so much plastic when we know about our impact.
Perhaps it such a problem because there's never been a great, portable set of utensils for everybody to carry. Flatware's Freddy Krueger inspired switch blade style fork and spoon let’s anyone gobble up meal after meal.
